Weekly Update 2/14

Hello KA Parents, and welcome to Lent!

Thank you, again, to all those who contributed and volunteered for our Valentine’s Day party!  Also, thank you for the lovely cards, candy, and flowers.  It was a day filled with love all around!

We have a short week this week, and next week, so there is no homework coming home tomorrow.  Just spend some family time reading, or saying extra prayers for Lent!  Your child brought home a Rice Bowl yesterday; this is an optional activity that you may do to save coins to donate to the poor in hungry in our country and around the world.  If you participate, please have your child bring the Rice Bowl back to school by Good Friday (or you may put it in the collection basket at church on Easter Sunday.)

Coming up next week, we will be focusing on the letter Bb and the sight words “and” and “what.”  In math, we will continue with addition.  In social studies, we will be learning about Presidents Day.

Upcoming Dates:

Friday 2/16 – No school , teacher in-service

Monday 2/19 and Tuesday 2/20- No school, Presidents Day and Mid-Winter Break

As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please let me know

Mrs. Katie White

Kindergarten Teacher, KA

Published by

White, Katie

Mrs. White is so excited for another great year in KA! She has been at SMM since 2014, and has been teaching in Catholic schools since 2002. Over the years, Mrs. White has taught many grade levels and subjects, but kindergarten is her absolute favorite! She loves being part of the early learning process and seeing the amazing connections that kindergarteners make every day. Mrs. White graduated with a BA in education and history from CWU (go Wildcats!) and earned a M.Ed. from Seattle U (go Redhawks!) She lives in Everett with her husband and two sons. Some of Mrs. White's favorites, in no particular order: Dogs, Chocolate, Hiking, Books, and Snow!
