Weekly Update 1/18

Hello KA Families,

What a crazy week it has been!  I hope you all were able to enjoy the snow days.  It was fun having the snow, but I was missing our KA class!  I am looking forward to a somewhat normal week ahead.  This week in KA, we will continue working on the letter Hh, and the sight word “are”.  In math, we are working on numbers 6-12.  In writing, students will be increasing their level of independence in writing, applying our knowledge of sight words, letter sounds, and best guess kindergarten spelling.  In religion, we will begin talking about Catholic schools week, and what makes our school so special.

If you have a chance at home, it is a great time to talk with your child about our Catholic school.  Why do you choose Catholic school for your child?  How did  your family make this important decision?  What does your family love best about SMM?  If you are willing to share your ideas with me (email is great!) we will include these in a special project for our school and parish.  Thank  you in advance!  Every year, Catholic Schools week is one of my favorite times of year.  I love knowing that Catholic school teachers, students, and families across the country are celebrating what makes our schools vibrant, faith-filled, and successful learning communities.

Good work on the January homework.  Mrs. White and Mrs. Geppert check homework each Friday.  It will be collected on the last Friday of the month.  (This month, it will be collected on Friday 1/31.)

  • Monday Jan. 20th– No school, Martin Luther King Day
