KA Weekly Update 4/28

Hello KA Parents,

Happy (almost) May!

We have a busy and exciting week coming up.  On Tuesday, we will attend the May Crowning.  Please have your child bring flowers.  Thursday morning is our Fire Station field trip. Please send your child’s booster seat to school with them on Thursday.  Thursday we will also visit the book fair during our regular library class.  If you wish to send money for your child to purchase books, please put it in a labeled baggie.

In reading we will be reviewing the letters Gg, Ww, Xx, and Vv, and sight words he, she, has, and look.  In math, we will continue our unit on measurement.  In religion, we will be learning about Mary.  Ms. Garcia will also be teaching a lesson about perseverance.  In social studies, we will be learning about fire safety at home and school.

Reminders:

  • Please make sure your child has a water bottle at school!
  • We still need more shoeboxes, if you have one (or more!) at home, please send them in to KA!  Thanks!
  • Please remember that pizza orders need to be placed ahead of time! See SMM newsletter for the link to pre-purchase.
  • Please consider coming to the play, Peter Pan!  Link to purchase tickets in the SMM school newsletter.

White, Katie

Mrs. White is so excited for another great year in KA! She has been at SMM since 2014, and has been teaching in Catholic schools since 2002. Over the years, Mrs. White has taught many grade levels and subjects, but kindergarten is her absolute favorite! She loves being part of the early learning process and seeing the amazing connections that kindergarteners make every day. Mrs. White graduated with a BA in education and history from CWU (go Wildcats!) and earned a M.Ed. from Seattle U (go Redhawks!) She lives in Everett with her husband and two sons. Some of Mrs. White's favorites, in no particular order: Dogs, Chocolate, Hiking, Books, and Snow!
