Weekly Update 3/21

Hello KA parents,

Happy Spring!

Next week, we will be reviewing the letters Kk and Uu and all of our sight words so far: a, am, are, and, can, do, for, go, here, have, is, it, I, little, like, play, said, see, to, the, this, was, what, we, you.  In math, we will continue working on subtraction, and studying how addition and subtraction are related.  In religion, we will be learning about Palm Sunday, the Last Supper, and the Stations of the Cross.

*Save the date! Our second field trip of the year will be to the Everett Fire Station, on Friday May 4th.  This is a short field trip, with about an hour long tour, in the afternoon.  More information will be coming later, but if you are interested in driving/chaperoning, please make sure you have all necessary trainings and forms on file with the school office ahead of time.  *Please let Mrs. White know if you would like to drive/chaperone for this field trip.  I will be sending a permission slip home on Friday along with the homework packet.

*Scholastic book orders are due by the 23rd.  If you choose to order books,  you may send it in to me with a check or you can order online (online class code is P74D8.)  I will submit all orders for March on the 23rd.

Upcoming dates:

  • Friday March 30- Good Friday. Kindergarten will attend the “Living Stations of the Cross” at 11:00 with the school.  Please join us if you can!  Early dismissal at 12:00 (no lunch). No extension in the afternoon.

Mrs. White is so excited for another great year in KA! She has been at SMM since 2014, and has been teaching in Catholic schools since 2002. Over the years, Mrs. White has taught many grade levels and subjects, but kindergarten is her absolute favorite! She loves being part of the early learning process and seeing the amazing connections that kindergarteners make every day. Mrs. White graduated with a BA in education and history from CWU (go Wildcats!) and earned a M.Ed. from Seattle U (go Redhawks!) She lives in Everett with her husband and two sons. Some of Mrs. White's favorites, in no particular order: Dogs, Chocolate, Hiking, Books, and Snow!
