Hello KA Parents,
Happy May! With the start of May, our countdown to summer will be beginning soon! In kindergarten, we count down the final 26 days of school with our annual ABC Countdown. Each day will have a special theme related to the letter of the day. By the time we “ZOOM” into summer on Z day, the students will be ready for first grade! This is an exciting way to wrap up the year, and have fun celebrating with some special activities each day. Please note the daily calendar, attached below. I will also send home a paper copy in student folders on Friday.
Next week in reading, we will be working on the letters Yy and Zz. We will also focus on the sight words “me” and “where”. In math, we will be working on measurement and larger numbers. We are working on some special art projects for Mother’s Day and for our heavenly mother, Mary.
Coming Up:
- Thursday 5/3 is our library day, so our class will visit the book fair. If you wish to send money with your child, please put it in an envelope or baggie labeled with their name.
- Friday 5/4 is our field trip to the fire station! This is a free dress day. Please make sure to send our child’s booster seat to school with them! Drivers, please arrive in KA at 12:45. We will return to school at 2:45.
Save the dates!
Thursday June 14th– 11:00 am- KA celebration brunch: this will be a special day with songs, student presentations, awards, and brunch! Please plan on attending this special brunch in our class! We want to make sure each student has at least one special parent or family member in attendance. Please let Mrs. White know how many family members will attend, so we can plan for enough chairs, etc.
Friday June 15th– 9:30 am- End of year prayer service: this assembly in the church will feature special prayers and songs sung by the students of KA and KB.
