Weekly Update 2/22

Hello KA parents,

It has been a short but busy week!  Students will be bringing home homework packets on Friday, please be sure to have your child work on these and return them next Friday.  Also, please remind them to use pencil for all writing tasks!  Thank you.

Next week, we will be working on the letter Ll and the sight words “and” and “what”.  In math, we will continue to work on addition.  On Friday, March 2 we will celebrate Read Across America and Dr. Seuss’s birthday!  For this special day, your child may wear their pajamas to school, and bring a bag of books from home!

Upcoming Dates:

Friday March 2- Read Across America Day and Dr. Seuss’s birthday- kindergarten students may wear pajamas and bring a bag of books from home.  *Please make sure to wear regular shoes and a coat!

Thursday March 15- St. Patrick’s Day Parade at 2:00.  Wear GREEN!

Friday March 16- No school, teacher in-service day

Saturday March 17- SMM Shenanigans (adult-only event). Parents, hope to see you there! Don’t have a babysitter? Leave the kids at home with dad and make it a “mom’s night out”!  This is a fun, casual event that supports our school.

Mrs. White is so excited for another great year in KA! She has been at SMM since 2014, and has been teaching in Catholic schools since 2002. Over the years, Mrs. White has taught many grade levels and subjects, but kindergarten is her absolute favorite! She loves being part of the early learning process and seeing the amazing connections that kindergarteners make every day. Mrs. White graduated with a BA in education and history from CWU (go Wildcats!) and earned a M.Ed. from Seattle U (go Redhawks!) She lives in Everett with her husband and two sons. Some of Mrs. White's favorites, in no particular order: Dogs, Chocolate, Hiking, Books, and Snow!
