Weekly Update 4/11

Hello KA Parents,

We are so excited for science this week; we are planting marigold and sunflower seeds.  We will be observing and recording these for four weeks.

Next week we will be focusing on the letters “Vv” and “Xx”.  Next week we will work on the sight words “has” and “look”.  In math, we will begin our measurement unit.  We will continue to practice addition and subtraction for the rest of the year as well.

In religion, we are beginning to learn the Hail Mary prayer.  We will learn how to pray a decade of the rosary during April, in preparation for the May Crowning.

Save the dates!

Thursday June 14th– 11:00 am- KA celebration brunch: this will be a special day with songs, student presentations, awards, and brunch!  Please plan on attending this special brunch in our class! We want to make sure each student has at least one special parent or family member in attendance.

Friday June 15th– 9:30 am- End of year prayer service: this assembly in the church will feature special prayers and songs sung by the students of KA and KB.

As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please let me know!

White, Katie

Mrs. White is so excited for another great year in KA! She has been at SMM since 2014, and has been teaching in Catholic schools since 2002. Over the years, Mrs. White has taught many grade levels and subjects, but kindergarten is her absolute favorite! She loves being part of the early learning process and seeing the amazing connections that kindergarteners make every day. Mrs. White graduated with a BA in education and history from CWU (go Wildcats!) and earned a M.Ed. from Seattle U (go Redhawks!) She lives in Everett with her husband and two sons. Some of Mrs. White's favorites, in no particular order: Dogs, Chocolate, Hiking, Books, and Snow!
