Weekly Update 6/8

Hello KA Families,

Happy June!  It is hard to believe this will be the last full week of kindergarten.  Your children have grown so much, in so many ways, since September!  This week, we will be focusing on digraphs (ch, sh, th) in reading and different punctuation marks (period, question mark, exclamation point).  We are preparing the songs and readings for our end of year celebration, and the last day of school assembly.  Please note that all library books are due to back to the school library!

Coming up:

Monday June 10th: T for Teddy Bear Day.  Students may bring a teddy bear (or other stuffed animal) to class today.  It must be small enough to fit inside their backpack.

Monday June 17th : KA End of Year Celebration at 1:30 pm. This will be our classroom “graduation” ceremony with student presentation, awards, slideshow and treats. Thank you to everyone for signing up to bring treats for our special day! https://signup.com/go/VrVMuJu PLEASE RSVP IF YOU HAVEN’T ALREADY DONE SO!

Tuesday June 18th : Last day of school prayer service at 11:00 am, led by KA and KB.  (school is dismissed at 12:00). The kindergarten classes will lead the school prayer service with songs and prayer.  This is a “dress up day” and students should wear nice dressy clothes (or wear their uniform.)  *This prayer service assembly has been moved to the parish hall.*

If you have any questions or concerns, please let me know!  Thank you,

Mrs. White is so excited for another great year in KA! She has been at SMM since 2014, and has been teaching in Catholic schools since 2002. Over the years, Mrs. White has taught many grade levels and subjects, but kindergarten is her absolute favorite! She loves being part of the early learning process and seeing the amazing connections that kindergarteners make every day. Mrs. White graduated with a BA in education and history from CWU (go Wildcats!) and earned a M.Ed. from Seattle U (go Redhawks!) She lives in Everett with her husband and two sons. Some of Mrs. White's favorites, in no particular order: Dogs, Chocolate, Hiking, Books, and Snow!
