Weekly Update 1/5

Hello KA Families,

Happy New Year!  Wow, 2020!  I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas with family and loved ones. This week in KA, we will review the letters Oo and Ff, and the sight words “is” and “play”.  In math, we will continue our unit on shapes, symmetry, and equal parts.  We will begin a unit on numbers 6-12.  In religion, we will be learning about Epiphany.  In social studies and science, we will be learning about snow and polar bears.

The new January homework packet will be coming home on Monday.  Mrs. White and Mrs. Geppert check homework each Friday.  It will be collected on the last Friday of the month.  (This month, it will be collected on Friday 1/31.)

Coming Up:

Friday Jan. 17th– noon dismissal

Monday Jan. 20th– MLK, Jr. Day, no school

Classroom reminders: Please remember our classroom is nut-free!  Please make sure your child has a weather-appropriate coat or jacket every day, and a refillable water bottle every day!  Thank you.

As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please let me know!

Mrs. White is so excited for another great year in KA! She has been at SMM since 2014, and has been teaching in Catholic schools since 2002. Over the years, Mrs. White has taught many grade levels and subjects, but kindergarten is her absolute favorite! She loves being part of the early learning process and seeing the amazing connections that kindergarteners make every day. Mrs. White graduated with a BA in education and history from CWU (go Wildcats!) and earned a M.Ed. from Seattle U (go Redhawks!) She lives in Everett with her husband and two sons. Some of Mrs. White's favorites, in no particular order: Dogs, Chocolate, Hiking, Books, and Snow!
