Weekly Newsletter 1/10

Hello KA Families,

Happy Friday!  With the wintery weather, please make sure to send your child to school with weather-appropriate coat, etc. for recess.  Hats and gloves are a great idea too!  Please keep in mind that if there is a school cancellation or late start due to the weather, the school will communicate through Flash Alert (please sign up for this text/email service if you haven’t already), as well as news coverage.

This week in KA, we will review the letters Hh, and the sight word “are”.  In math, we are working on numbers 6-12.  In social studies and religion, we are learning about Martin Luther King, and the importance of his teachings about love for each other and peaceful change.

Good work on the January homework.  Mrs. White and Mrs. Geppert check homework each Friday.  It will be collected on the last Friday of the month.  (This month, it will be collected on Friday 1/31.)

Coming Up:

Friday Jan. 17th– noon dismissal

Monday Jan. 20th– MLK, Jr. Day, no school

Classroom reminders:

Please make sure to let us know if your child is sick or has an appointment.  If your child will be missing school, you can use the attendance link on the SMM website  https://stmarym.org/tardyabsent/

OR you can email Mrs. White and c.c. Mrs. Lupian in the office.

Please remember our classroom is nut-free!  Please make sure your child has a weather-appropriate coat or jacket every day, and a refillable water bottle every day!  Thank you.

As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please let me know!

Mrs. White is so excited for another great year in KA! She has been at SMM since 2014, and has been teaching in Catholic schools since 2002. Over the years, Mrs. White has taught many grade levels and subjects, but kindergarten is her absolute favorite! She loves being part of the early learning process and seeing the amazing connections that kindergarteners make every day. Mrs. White graduated with a BA in education and history from CWU (go Wildcats!) and earned a M.Ed. from Seattle U (go Redhawks!) She lives in Everett with her husband and two sons. Some of Mrs. White's favorites, in no particular order: Dogs, Chocolate, Hiking, Books, and Snow!
